We believe the greatest challenge of our time is sustainability – and that’s precisely why Delta Ventures was born, so Grupo Nabeiro could have yet another arm helping the planet’s regeneration and balance. Not only do we choose to bet on startups that meet our high-standard goals, but we also go the extra mile to partner with projects that are also taking a stance, like the Re-source program powered by Beta-i and Programa SOL, sperheaded by the City of Lisbon.
We know that as a company, we are privileged to have a wide scope for action, which most people don’t. But collective efforts are a big part of any solution, and we can all do our part. Choosing to be a better, more conscious consumer is one excellent way of doing so. Nowadays, we have many companies creating solutions that were previously unimaginable. Here are some that we came across lately and simply loved it:
Paboco - the paper bottle company
A fully bio-based paper bottle with a thin, 100% recyclable PET barrier, reducing plastic use by 65%. The Copenhagen-based company is certainly reaching new heights, designing for circularity using renewable materials.
Living Ink Technologies
The American company is on a mission to use sustainable algae tech to replace petroleum-derived products, such as ink. Nowadays, most players in the industry use less than environmentally-responsible solutions, such as carbon black. They’re already fallen on the graces of big names such as Patagonia, Nike and Adidas.
LUSH's packing peanuts
Famous for its sustainable practices, Lush has a very original way of protecting its customer’s orders. They use plant-based packing peanuts to protect the products delivered from the online store. They are 100% biodegradable, unlike Styrofoam.
